THE COALITION FOR ATONEMENT & REPAIR
Grassroots organizing SINCE OUR FOUNDING
CAR has been organizing and meeting since June, 2023 with the members of the Old Fourth Ward Displaced Persons group that includes harmed residents, business owners and their descendants. CAR has intentionally focused on engaging the members voices by conducting several listening sessions; regular meetings to name potential repair actions and engaging the affected church communities of the Old Fourth Ward – St. Philips and First Baptist. Atonement can only be achieved by including these collective voices harmed by the injustice of Urban Renewal in Annapolis.
